1. View a video and answer questions to introduce the ecosystem of Mono Lake

2.  Reading: Populations and Ecosystems: Mono Lake p. 25-30 & 17- 19 Trophic Levels answer questions on p. 36. Thinking About Mono Lake to understand the the biotic and abiotic factors of Mono Lake and the hierarchy of the food web that exists in the ecosystem

3. Take notes on the hierarchy of the energy pyramid: decomposer, producer, primary, secondary, tertiary consumer

1. Observe the changes and food webs in the different ecosystems

2. Discuss how Energy flows through the food web starting from the sun through the producers (most biomass) and the levels of the consumers and then being recycled by the decomposers

3. Use cards to organize the organisms into a food web- identifying the producers, consumers (primary, secondary, tertiary), and decomposers
