2. Practice balancing equations according to the Law of Conservation of Matter

3. Balance chemical equations-Chemical Reactions& Tutorial
NJCCCS 5.1  & 5.6

Journal : What do up and down arrows mean in a Chemical RXN?

Studyisland Assignment #8 Energy

2/26

Endothermic & Exothermic Reactions
1.
Observe a reaction between Baking soda and Citric Acid solution to differentiate between endothermic and exothermic reactions

2. Take notes on the 5 types of Chemical Reactions: Synthesis, Decomposition, Single Replacement,  Double Replacement, & Combustion Reactions

3. Balance chemical equations-Chemical Reactions& Tutorial
NJCCCS 5.1  & 5.6

Journal: What is the definition of Cold?

Studyisland Assignment #8 Energy

2/27

Study Island NJ ASK 8 Review

1. Balance chemical equations-Chemical Reactions& Tutorial

2. Prepare for NJ ASK by using the the Studyisland.com website to review  Science lessons - Chemical RXN and Acids and Bases

2. Prepare for NJ ASK by using the the Studyisland.com website to review  Science lessons - Energy- light, heat

NJCCCS 5.1 , 5.4

Studyisland Assignment #8 Energy

Test Friday:  Chemical reactions, balancing equations, Law of Conservation of matter, types of reactions, endothermic, exothermic

2/28

Energy
1. Balance chemical equations-Chemical Reactions& Tutorial- go over p. 32)

2. Review Exothermic & Endothermic reactions and whether Energy is used by the reaction or produced by the reaction

3. Review the types of reactions: Synthesis, Decomposition, Single Replacement,  Double Replacement, & Combustion Reactions

NJCCCS 5.1  & 5.6

  Studyisland Assignment #8 Energy

3/1

Chemical RXN Test
1. Demonstrate knowledge of  Chemical reactions, balancing equations, Law of Conservation of matter, types of RXN, on a Test

2. Science Journal Entry:

1.Explain what you think this means and is :
2.
CO2 + H2O --->C6H12O6 + O2
* Does this equation follow the law: Atoms cannot be created or destroyed- if not do something about it!

3.Science journal- list all the food you ate for lunch and then break down where the food came from naming the organism and whether it is a producer, consumer, or decomposer
Example- Ham & Cheese sandwich with mustard & lettuce on wheat bread
Ham- Pig (consumer)
Cheese- Milk- cow (consumer)- & Bacteria (decomposer)
Lettuce- lettuce plant (producer)
Mustard- mustard plant (producer)
Wheat bread- wheat plant (producer
